The Fantastic Flying Books of Mr. Morris Lessmore is a 2011 animated short film directed by William Joyce and Brandon Oldenburg, and produced by Moonbot Studios in Shreveport, Louisiana. Described as an "allegory about the curative powers of story," the film centers on bibliophile Lessmore and his custodianship of a magical library of flying books. It was created using computer animation, miniatures and traditional hand-drawn techniques.
After winning over a dozen film festivals, the film was awarded the Best Animated Short Film at the 84th Academy Awards.

A Morning Stroll is an English animated short film by Grant Orchard. The film was screened at the 2011 Brooklyn Film Festival as well as the 2012 Sundance Film Festival where it won Best Animation and the Jury Prize in Animated Short Film respectively. The film was also nominated Best Animated Short Film at the 84th Academy Awards as well as Best Short Animation at the 65th British Academy Film Awards.
The film is loosely based on an event in True Tales of American Life by American author Paul Auster.

Sunday (French: Dimanche) is a Canadian animated short film by Patrick Doyon. The film debuted at the Berlin International Film Festival in February 2011 and online on January 5, 2012.
Dimanche is the first professional film by Doyon, a native of Montreal. Doyon had previously created a three-minute animated short Square Roots in 2006, while enrolled in the NFB's Hothouse program for young animators.
Still learning how to use computer animation tools, he worked with pen and pencil to create Dimanche, hand drawing the entire film.
